Threats The Threats to the Roan Plateau are from people drilling oil and hunting animals in the area. The drilling areas are getting closer to where the animals stay and may affect the way they live. People hunting the animals may cause them to become rare in certain areas. And drilling will cause loss of habitat and destroy the Roan Plateau.
Importance The Roan Plateau is important because it is a refuge for animals like the Colorado Cutthroat Trout, which is a rare fish and the Parachute Pestemon, which is a rare plant. The Roan Plateau is also has a lot of oil and if the BLM keeps drilling oil it will destroy the habitat and cause animals that are endangered or in danger of becoming endangered There are over 67,000 acres of land. And if you still don’t believe the Roan Plateau is important then another reason is that it provides jobs for many families and provides a safe place for some of Colorado’s most beautiful plants and animals. If we continue to drill on the Roan Plateau, then soon we aren’t going to have a place for Colorado’s wild life
